Available ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Account & Profile Information
First name and date of birth
Gender and dating preferences
Email address (if signing up with email)
Profile photo (taken live in-app via camera — uploads are not permitted)
Identity Verification Data
A live selfie taken at registration, used solely to verify your identity against your government-issued ID
A photo of your government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID), used only for identity verification
We do not use automated facial recognition software. Verification is a visual match check only.
ID documents and selfie data are stored securely and are never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than identity verification.
Location Data
Precise location (GPS) while you are actively marked "Available" in the app
Location is only collected and broadcast when you manually enable the Available toggle
We do not collect location data in the background or when the toggle is off
Location data is used solely to detect other Available users nearby and facilitate real-world meetings
Device & Usage Data
Device type, OS version, and app version (for crash reporting and compatibility)
Anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience
2. How We Use Your Information

To verify your identity and confirm you are who you say you are

To enforce safety features including blocking, reporting, and moderation

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
3. Face and Biometric Data
Available collects a live selfie and government ID photo during onboarding for identity verification purposes. This data is:
Stored securely in encrypted cloud storage (Supabase, US-based servers)
Used only to verify that the profile photo matches the person behind the account
Never shared with third-party facial recognition services or data brokers
Retained only for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, all biometric data is permanently deleted.
4. Location Data Specifics
Location is the core mechanic of Available. Here is exactly how it works:
Manual only: You must actively flip the "Available" toggle to begin sharing your location. The app never shares your location automatically.
Foreground only: Location is only collected while the app is open and the toggle is on.
Short retention: Your last broadcast location is stored temporarily to facilitate matching and is deleted when you toggle off or close the app.
No location history: We do not build a history or log of your location over time.
Not shared: Your precise location coordinates are never shared with other users. Only proximity (e.g., "nearby") is communicated.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: We use Supabase for secure database and storage services. They process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred. You will be notified in advance.
6. Data Retention
Account and profile data is retained for as long as your account is active
Location broadcasts are deleted immediately when you toggle off or close the app
Identity verification photos (selfie and ID) are retained while your account is active and permanently deleted upon account deletion
Match history is retained for 90 days after completion, then permanently deleted
7. Your Rights
Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Access your data: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@available-dating.com
Correction: You can update your profile information directly in the app at any time.
Blocking: You can block any user directly from the match screen. Blocked users will not appear in your matches.
8. Children's Privacy
Available is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Date of birth is collected and verified during onboarding. If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately deleted.
9. Security
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only. We conduct regular security reviews of our systems and third-party providers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Available after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
